Urgent: contact your legislator about solar energy
Gov. Martinez may call a special legislative session to deal with outstanding issues from the recent legislative session. One very important bill that was pocket vetoed by the Gov. was an extension to a tax credit for residential, commercial, and agricultural solar installations.
This tax credit is good for New Mexico: it would support solar energy, which helps clean our air and water, improves public health, and creates jobs.
Speaker Don Tripp, Majority Floor Leader Nate Gentry, President Pro Tempore Mary Kay Papen, and Senate Finance Committee Chair John Arthur Smith are critical in getting the solar tax credit included in the tax package.
Please email these key leaders and ask them to include this important tax credit during the special session.
